In response to voter disapproval of Proposition A (RISD Voter Approval Tax Rate Election)
Texas Property Tax Code 26.08 gives RCAD specific direction regarding a failed voter approval tax rate election. The District has 90 days after the Election is certified to send a letter of explanation with corrected tax statements. The goal of RCAD is to process the letter of explanation, corrected tax statements, and refunds as soon as possible. Refunds will be sent automatically to anyone who paid the amount due in the initial tax statement.

Rockwall Central Appraisal District will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29, 2024, for the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Normal office hours will resume Monday, December 2, 2024.
